This standard oak kitchen has been transformed into a bright white kitchen with enhanced storage. The white perimeter sets off the black island and was the perfect choice for this country kitchen.
The non-functional pantry cabinets were too deep and items got lost in the back. By framing in a pantry, the client has much better storage with easy wide-open access. The butler's pantry had become a "dropping" ground for all kinds of things. Now it serves as a bar area with a beverage fridge and wine glass storage. Closed cabinets at the desk provide ample storage for papers, photos, cook books, etc. The island was modified and now has (2) spice pull-outs on either side of the deep center drawers used for storing pots and pans. Roll-outs and soft-close drawer-full extension glides were added to all base cabinets for easier access. A pull-out waste basket was added near the sink. This is a great example of how refacing and modifying your cabinets can be a cost-effective way to improve your space! |
